Issue: Gaia panel doesen't shows after installation but seems ok in extension manager

Version: Apply to Gaia CS4 version (CS3 works fine for me) on localized versions of flash

Solution: in my case it's just a matter of paths, copy the content of extension in correct path

wrong path was:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Flash CS4\it\Configuration

correct:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Flash CS4\en\Configuration

same trouble apply everytime that i upgrade gaia (not with cs3) so i think that is a Adobe issue

**** UPDATE  thanks to Azicuetano

1) Install Extension Manager CS4 patch 2.1
2) Run Extension Manager CS4 from flash>help>Manage Extensions... and install GAIA Framework.
3) Close Flash and Run it again.

I reviewed the mxi documentation and there might be something I can about this to force it to install in the en folder.  If somebody here could PM me that had this issue (where Gaia installed into a different language folder), I can send you the test mxp to ensure it works.

This should be fixed as of 3.0.1.

This should be fixed as of 3.0.1.

I had the same problem with 3.0.2 on OSX.
I solved it the same way...

/Users/[your username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash CS4/de/Configuration/
(copy content from Extensions, GaiaFramework and WindowSWF Folder)

Unfortunately, it's an Adobe bug. Some things just don't work as they should in mxi files.  I tried at least.

Hi, guys.
Does anyone know where we can complain about the problem? Kind of bugtrack on Adobe where we can collectively write our reports on subject?
I have to correct the paths mentioned in this thread on every pc with gaia installed. it's so bothersome :-(

It's also Steven's fault that we have to upgrade the Gaia so frequently.
He-he, Steven, you are moving too fast!  Grin

Nice to see the community rolling!
I was looking for solution to this problem several days ago, found nothing, fixed it today, was going to share the knowledge. It's already here!

I really think there should be a note about this fix in the release/download notes. I encountered this problem while doing the previous update, but had since forgotten the details and had to look this up again. Thankfully I knew where to look. Would be a pity to have non-US users give up on Gaia because the panel doesn't show up in CS4.

Finally, I've installed GAIA Framework correctly, without need to do anything manual!!!

The situation: Extension Manager CS4 in spanish and Flash CS4 in english.
The problem: Extension Manager CS4 install GAIA under "/es" directory and Flash CS4 can't display GAIA Panel.
The solution:

1) Install Extension Manager CS4 patch 2.1
2) Run Extension Manager CS4 from flash>help>Manage Extensions... and install GAIA Framework.
3) Close Flash and Run it again.

I wish I had read this post before reinstalling an English CS4 trial version just to make the Gaia panel work.

I did find an alternative solution though, now that I had to reinstall the French CS4 version:
(ok, don't get me started on language specific Adobe licenses)

On MacOS X, I simply changed my operating system language to French (same as my CS4 license) before installing the Gaia Framework.3.1.2.mxp, and TADAAA it installed correctly, it showed up in the "Autres panneaux"="Other Panels" menu, and it works perfectly.

It even keeps working now that I switched MacOS X back to English.
Now I just have to get my CS4 license converted to English, so that I can stop reinstalling and start coding happily  Grin
