Hi all,
I am new to Gaia. I am having problems with the panel not showing.
I run XP SP3, Adobe Flash CS3.
I followed all the suggestions regarding language installation but in my configuration folder there is only en; I don't have multiple language folders. Applied adobe updates, no luck.

Installation seemed OK and checked that they are in the right folders.

When going to windows>other panels> Gaia Framework no panel shows; Flash seems halting at times. when closing Flash,
Microsoft visual studio debugger launches an gives an unhandled win32 ocurred in Flash.exe.

I am clueless as to what to try next. please help

The Gaia panel attempts to use JSFL to run a command line function, which might be why your MVS Debugger is firing. It's possible something is blocking Flash from accessing the shell on your computer?

Hi Steven,
I am not familiar with JSFL, can you give me some pointers as what apps can block its access?
I am inside a private network firewall is not enable. Do I need to install another app for JSFL?

Thank you!

Hi guys! the solution of copying and paste in the correct path doesn't work for me on CS5... that path doesnt exist on mac os 10.6.4... any suggestions?

thanks for help.

Hi Fabricio

I should work fine if you follow FlashJunior's post.

The problem is between Adobe Ext. Manager and the operative system, if your OSx is in english it will just work fine, but if your OSx is something else the extension manager will put gaia in the wrong place.

Be sure all the files are copied correctly.

I have a weird issue trying to run Gaia for the first time.  Everything seems ok but when I select "Gaia Framework" from the "Other Panels" menu it opens up the built in Flash Project panel, even opens a second copy of the panel if the project panel was previously open instead of toggling it.

I've tried all the solutions noted here but nothing seems to fix it.

Has anyone had this exact issue and fixed it?

I had this exact same issue. I use a custom workspace layout, and I eventually managed to get the Gaia project panel to show up by going to Window > Workspace and selecting one of the default Flash workspaces (I used Classic) and then re-setting it back to my custom workspace.

I'd like to note at this point that my OS and Flash install were both English, so I wasn't affected by the Adobe Extension Manager language bug.

This should be fixed as of 3.0.1.

I had the same problem with 3.0.2 on OSX.
I solved it the same way...

/Users/[your username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash CS4/de/Configuration/
(copy content from Extensions, GaiaFramework and WindowSWF Folder)

 /Users/[your username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash CS4/en/Configuration/

You are the man!

this solved my issue also. thanks.

Issue: Gaia panel doesen't shows after installation but seems ok in extension manager

Version: Apply to Gaia CS4 version (CS3 works fine for me) on localized versions of flash

Solution: in my case it's just a matter of paths, copy the content of extension in correct path

wrong path was:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Flash CS4\it\Configuration

correct:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Flash CS4\en\Configuration

same trouble apply everytime that i upgrade gaia (not with cs3) so i think that is a Adobe issue

**** UPDATE  thanks to Azicuetano

1) Install Extension Manager CS4 patch 2.1
2) Run Extension Manager CS4 from flash>help>Manage Extensions... and install GAIA Framework.
3) Close Flash and Run it again.

For me , in the Flash CS 5.5 and Windows XP, what  worked was:

1º: Install the Gaia via Extension Manager.

2º:
Copy the folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\user\Configurações locais\Dados de aplicativos\Adobe\Flash CS5.5\pt_BR\Configuration\GaiaFramework ( pt_BR because i am in Brazil )

to:

C:\Documents and Settings\user\Configurações locais\Dados de aplicativos\Adobe\Flash CS5.5\en_US\Configuration\GaiaFramework

3º: Open Flash CS 5.5 and go to menu: Help > Manage Extensions...

The Extension Manager will open again, but this time the Gaia checkbox will be not checked.
Check it!
One dialog window will open asking to overwrite the present files in en_US folder, click in YES button.

Restart flash and be happy Wink

( Maybe installing direct from flash can solve all the problems,  but i did not test... )

For those following this thread but having Windows 7, take into account that path change. So I have the typical problem of having Flash in another language, spanish in my case, and the Extension Manager installing it in en_US. So:

1. Path for Windows 7 is something like: C:\Users\<youruser>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Flash CS5\en_US\Configuration
2. AppData is hidden by default, go to folders option panel (just type "show hidden files" in windows help if you don't know how to access it) and select to show hidden folders and files in the View Tab, Advanced Settings
3. Using the extension Manager probably Gaia was installed in path from point 1, in my case, using a spanish version, the correct path is C:\Users\<youruser>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Flash CS5\es_ES\Configuration
4. Copy C:\Users\Jorge\AppData\Local\Adobe\Flash CS5\en_US\Configuration to C:\Users\Jorge\AppData\Local\Adobe\Flash CS5\es_ES\Configuration (or whatever other language you use, if you use english probably you're not reading this)

Good luck!
