hello,

i found a problem with the gaia installation on my mac.

I don't know if was the flash/extension manager problem or something with Gaia Framework.mxp

well.. I installed Gaia Framework.mxp in flash cs3 SPANISH mac app, using the Adobe Extension Manager.
After, I've restarted the flash but the gaia did not was in the other panels menu.

I found the gaia's installed documents in USER/Application Support/Adobe/Flash CS3/en/Configuration
but the problem is that my flash is spanish, and the folder for the Configuration  is /es/Configuration

i changed the folders Extensions, GaiaFramework, WindowSWF from "/en/Configuration" to "/es/Configuration" and WORKS perfect  ^_^

Was this an upgrade or a fresh install? Every time you update Gaia, you have to uninstall the previous version.

This is simply a bug in Adobe Extension Manager.  The MXI file looks like this:

Code:
<file name="panel/Gaia Framework.swf" destination="$flash/WindowSWF" />

Note the variable "$flash".  That is used by Adobe Extension Manager to target the user's Flash folder, wherever it is.  If it isn't putting them in the es folder, and instead putting them in the en folder, I can't do anything about it because I'm using the only value available to me.

You are not the first person to report this.  I suggest you contact Adobe and tell them to fix the Extension Manager (good luck Undecided).

i believed that it was the Adobe Extension Manager the error    Lips sealed
but I just wanted to comment the problem and the solution found after an hour of attempts.

greetings and congratulations for the gaia framework!

I wonder if there are localized versions of the Extension Manager.  Might be worth looking into or asking Adobe.

I found the same problem and thanks to this post i solved it.

I have my Extension Manager in spanish, and my flash CS4 in english. So, the Extension Manager install the Gaia extension in a Spanish directory located at:
C:\Users\my_name_user\AppData\Local\Adobe\Flash CS4\es\Configuration

But the destination must be:
C:\Users\my_name_user\AppData\Local\Adobe\Flash CS4\en\Configuration

So, I searched all new files in "/es/Configuration" directory and I copied these files in "/en/Configuration"
At the moment, i don't know if i do something wrong but, at least, now I can see GAIA Panel. Wink

Is important to check the language version of Extension Manager and Flash...

Finally, I've installed GAIA Framework correctly, without need to do anything manual!!!

The situation: Extension Manager CS4 in spanish and Flash CS4 in english.
The problem: Extension Manager CS4 install GAIA under "/es" directory and Flash CS4 can't display GAIA Panel.
The solution:

1) Install Extension Manager CS4 patch 2.1
2) Run Extension Manager CS4 from flash>help>Manage Extensions... and install GAIA Framework.
3) Close Flash and Run it again.
