Gaia Framework for Adobe Flash v3.1.3
Release Date: 05.27.2009

You need the Adobe Extension Manager to install the mxp file.
http://www.adobe.com/exchange/em_download/

The Gaia 3.x panel works with Flash CS3 and CS4.  Flash 8 is no longer supported.

Safari Users: Right-click and Save As.

Important Installation Notes
  • 1. Save the MXP file to your desktop first and then open it.  Do not choose "Open" from the browser as some people have reported failed installs when they do this.
  • 2. Close Flash and trash the previous Gaia installation before installing the new version.  The Adobe Extension Manager can be buggy when updating a component that is already there.
  • 3. You must delete your ASO files before scaffolding your first project with a new version of Gaia, or after updating an existing project fiolder with a new version of Gaia.  It's in the top menu under Controls > Delete ASO Files.
  • 4. After you delete your ASO files, make sure you republish all the Flash files in your project after updating to a new version of Gaia.
  • 5. You should also delete your browser's cache before testing your first project in the browser with a new version of Gaia, or after updating an existing project with a new version of Gaia.

3.1.3 Overview
Gaia 3.1.3 is primarily a panel update, with SWFWheel integration and a slight modification to the DisplayObjectAsset thrown in for good measure.  A bigger Gaia update is coming in a few weeks, I just wanted to get this new panel out there to address some of these issues without throwing in too much new stuff at the same time.

Panel Authentication Update
The panel is now using a cleaner methodology for authenticating. This will hopefully fix the issues some people were having when Flash crashed or when reinstalling Flash or their OS.  The tokens should now persist on the same computer even if you reinstall Flash or your OS. If you already unlocked your panel, you shouldn't have to unlock it again with this update.

SWFWheel Integration (AS3)
Gaia AS3 is now integrated with SWFWheel, written by Takanobu Izukawa (@soundkitchen on Twitter).  SWFWheel is a multi-browser solution for mouse-wheel detection, especially for Mac.  What's awesome about SWFWheel is there are no external dependencies (no Javascript file) or special code you have to write.  Gaia instantiates it for you.  All you have to do is listen to the native Flash MouseEvent.MOUSE_WHEEL event and SWFWheel does the rest!  Plus, SWFWheel is smart enough to know when your mouse is over the Flash and when it's over the browser.

DisplayObjectAsset LoaderContext update
DisplayObjectAsset now passes "true" for checkPolicyFile in the LoaderContext.  This is in case you are loading assets from different domains or CDNs.  It should have always been true, sorry about that!  Smiley
